Gear up for Vegas (for under $150)

I have created 3 outfits perfect for a night in Las Vegas. Each outfit is under $150, this will allow more shopping bliss during the day in Vegas. Next time you're there remember to cut loose and have fun, that goes for your wardrobe too, try something that would normally scare you a little, or that feels a little stupid. No one is taken seriously there except for entertainers, so you have nothing to worry about. Have you seen their outfits???

Total cost: $113.19
jeans, shoes, tunic, and blazer are from Forever 21. The clutch is from Target.
Total cost: $104.70
Everything is from Forever 21.

Total cost: $133.19
jacket, shoes, jeans, and top are from Forever 21. The clutch is from Target.

Because of my love of the internet, I am slightly more confined by where I can choose pieces from, there are a lot of great sites out there, but for the price and style, the same two kept coming up. And trust me, I looked at a lot of sites.

here are some more of my (cheap!) favorites that were not quite right for this project, but I am sure you'll soon find some need for them.
oaknyc.com (the oak collection)
greatglam.com (great for vegas, but VERY painful to look at)

I love this site, make it a detailed or as simple as you want. Create a profile and then begin to create color pallets, and patterns. Browse for inspiration, from other "lovers", and make your pallet as bizarre, or simple as you want. I'v been a member for years now, and I love checking it out when I want a little doodle time or a color kick. Go to COLOURlovers and start exploring!

How to: Wear Flannel Plaid

One of my friends on Facebook made a comment about how much she hates that people think that its so cool to wear flannel theses days. I responded saying that not all flannel is bad, but that got me thinking... how are people to know what is fashionable flannel and what is not? I think is is fun to re-invent a piece of clothing and wear it in a whole new way it keeps the trend wheels moving, the original function doesn't always need to be preserved (flannel shirts : warmth) we can always take our style back and revert to being a warm lumber jack. Fashion, and trends are fun and fleeting, don't put serious thought into them, just have fun with them while they're here.

The key is to not let the print, or size of the garment overwhelm you. show some skin, wear a legging or skinny jean, wear the top open with a tank underneath, wear a leather jacket or blazer over the flannel top. In other words don't do a boot cut jean with your tennis shoes and a flannel shirt, this will look bad. I also wouldn't recommend wearing a high heel with the outfit, a wedge or block heel maybe, but keep the shoe looking sturdy like the flannel.

The stars in their flannel, keeping things lean, and trim on the bottom half.

Follow me...

Hello my dear readers, I have been trying to use all the options blogger offers, one of them is "following". I would love if you could take a moment to follow my blog (publicly). This would help me know who my readers are, and exactly how many to help me keep up with supply and demand. It would also help me get to know you better, and personalize more posts, and feedback. As a follower you would also be able to connect with other followers and their blogs, that would share a common interest.

Most of you know how to "follow"
a blog already, if you don't I have included screen shots to help you out.

How To: Follow my blog

1. once you are looking at my blog, go to the top left corner, and click "Follow".

2. Once you click, a new window will pop up, that will look like this. please select the first option "Follow publicly", and click "Follow" at the bottom.

3. the window will change and read this...

You are now following my blog! THANK YOU!

{Marcia Moran: look fabulous, but not fancy...feel rich, yet reasonable... dress spectacularly, yet still simple.}

{Elizabeth Cole: Inspire the golden tigress within}

{Smith: defined is a worker in metal}

{Alex Keller: I recycle vintage and resale jewelry into fresh and (new) pieces}

{Sophie Gardner: an aesthetic bridge between ancient and modern worlds}

{Astrik: delicate objets d'art}
