Going Somewhere? Take the Smiths.

Alas, I won't be able to take a vaycay anytime soon, but if I were, I'd take Mr. & Mrs. Smith along. Pick a destination, hotel and more, all AMAZING, even if its just for window shopping. Enjoy.

Much more coming, just need a second to breathe.

Blue Skye, for dresses all Myne...

As I look out my windows I see some blue sky starring back at me. This is rare so early in the year in Seattle, don't worry I'm sure it will be gone by tomorrow. However, it does put me in the mood for a summer dress. Here are some top picks in a huge price range.

Happy Saint Patricks Day!

Hope among all the frivolity you have a fashionable day.
Do you know what the story is behind St. Paddy's day? Here it is is a nut shell, however there is a lot more to the story.

Patrick was a Roman who was captured by Irish Raiders while all the soldiers were off fighting for Rome. He was around 16, and was sold into slavery in Ireland which was ruled by the Druids, where he stayed for 6 years. He found a way to escape, and he went back to Briton. He Became a priest, and then in his 40s when he was ordained he went back to try and help others that were still in slavery, and the slave masters by teaching them Christianity. He used the 3 leaf clover as a symbol for the trinity, thus its popularity today.

This a very dumb down verison you can find more on the History and other Trivia below:, History

Dress by Numbers

Usually I would try to avoid math and numbers like the plague. But, in order to make my clients' life a little easier and help them develop their own fashion sense, I have to face the numbers. when an outfit is complete its 100% nothing can be taken off, and anything else on = too much 110%. You want 10 points of interest in your outfit (remember these are guidelines, to help you bump it up, or tone it down.) you count every seen layer, every button, every accessory, and shoes, pretty much everything except smooth solid fabric.

A couple more guide lines for some + and -

if you go at least 50% monochromatic, then you can afford to add a couple more points

if you go with 30% print to 100% print then you need to subtract some points.

In the following pictures I'll show you how many points they have and why it works starting at only a few points to a lot.

Jennifer has 13 points. it works because more than 50% of it is monochromatic, so she can afford the earings, and sunglasses

Ellen has 5 points, normally I'd say boring, but this works, however its not easy, it would be much easier to pull off Jen's look.

Sarah has 9 points, take one thing away, be it the broach, buttons, or color, and it looses it'd punch.

who ever this young hipster is has 8 points, I would like to see a large silver cuff bracelet on her and maybe some shoes with a little color or metallic. then I'd giver her 100%.

Models are not real people, but these outfits could be worn.
Model on the left is 100% 10 points almost too much because of the prints and textures ( you can't see the shoes, but you'd have to wear them)
Model on the right has 9 points, again almost too much because the metallic colored blouse, this would be a harder look in real life, but it helps your point counting skills!

Ignore the giant bag, and replace it with a smaller boho style black bag. Heidi has 5 points and that's good. think about the all over pattern, the beading on the bodice, the gladiators, (imaginary) purse, and sunglasses. She needs everything shes wearing, and nothing more. 100%!

Hope this helps you get dressed in the morning (or the afternoon like me!) if you want to know if an outfit works, email it to me,

Can't wait to hear from you!

I've never been a trendy wendy, or a trendster, but I've always tried to be "on trend". Meaning, I have a lot of the classic pieces, but then try to kick it up a notch with one or two trendy pieces. This is what I'm craving right now...

Love the print, classic shape

Flattering on almost anyone, remember it won't be this short on you, shes a model.

A little goes a long way

ooooh they'd sure look cute with this dress! Classic cut, fun print.

A nude wedge is classic, always flattering on the leg, and the wedge is always comfortable, its the only high heel I can work in!
Jeans, or a dress, this will go with all styles, day and night

Cropped has been in forever, the little worn is what brings it to now.
you can also wear this with more than you think, a classic gold, with a pop of turquoise.

Leather jackets, pair this one with the tye dye tee up top or the fun printed dress. this will stick around for years.

More ways to trend you your classicly versitile wardwrobe is with scarves, sunglasses, and hairstyles, change them with your outfits. Remember, just because you find it on a "trendy" site, doesn't mean its the right trend for you.

What is your trendy piece?

Modish Podish

I have been like a kid in a candy store the past couple days, on the internet, sadly no actual candy involved. But due to a lovely site called Modish, and my own web perusing, I have found some lust-worthy handmade goodies.

The Crosby (A shop in Portland Oregon, containing a collaboration of handmade goods)

The Card Tree

I am eagerly awaiting more from these lovely artists, and good luck to you all!

Take of your shirt!

Your tee shirt that is. That is the first step to recovering from the tee shirt epidemic. You know who you are... you're getting dressed, and you look at the sea of tees in your closet, and grab one. You're in a rut, you need something easy, affordable, and comfortable. Here are some NEW options for getting dressed.

Open Cardigan over a fitted tank or tee
More structured military cardigan to wear over a more flowy piece

adorable tunic!!! as long as you have a smaller cup size and can go strapless!

if you want a tee shirt go with one like this, a fun graphic, burnout, and a nice deep V

Sheer over sized tee, great color, pair it with a tank, and a fitted casual blazer of cardigan.

Great graphic tank great for a flowy open cardigan.

off the shoulder tee, just pair it with a tank!

You can still wear tees, but think of texture, pattern, and neckline. No more crew necks, or basic cotton, and don't forget your accessories, they make or break an outfit. Mix it up, you'll like it, maybe even love it! If you don't know it it works, post a picture, I'd be happy to help!
