Do you write in Chinese?

As potato says, I love how how letterpress has come back. I just wanted to share this with you. I want to use it for nick-knacks, jewelry, and pictures. Make an international little space in my home. Check it out and enjoy.

pretty paper

Ok its official, I have a new love in my life, its name is Poppytalk Handmade. I've showed you items from the site before. Right now they are themed for valentines & weddings. Seeing as I'm such a sucker for both, I narrowed it down to paper. So here are my favorite paper goods, if you have any extra time peruse the site and become all sappy like me.

The wedding dress

Not THE wedding dress, you know the white, poofy, princess dress we all think we want (more on that later)
The dress I'm talking about is the little dress that you pull out for weddings. It doesn't do much else, maybe a dinner party or two, its not the dress you wear to work, or on a date. Its cute, stylish, not too showy, or skimpy, its juuuust right.

Today I am going to a friends wedding, and thinking what to wear has been tough. I need to look good because all my old school mates will be there that I haven't seen in years. There is not enough time to go shopping, so I need to work with what I have.

Here are some great picks for your next wedding.
(clockwise: Sari Gueron, Black Halo - Check out the rest of this local boutique, David Meister, Banana Republic, and Donna Karen) Don't forget the shoes, go for a classic pump or peep toe, keep them simple like a Christian Louboutin, Paolo, or Stuart Weitzman. I know that not everyone can afford these brands, but keep thier style in mind when shoppin at a lower price point.

This is what I'm doing... Plus Grey tights and a pearl necklace

I know some of you are thinking "I'm not going to wear a dress or pumps, too uncomfortable." Thats where I'm going to give you some tough love and say suck it up, practice makes perfect when you're talking about dresses and pumps. Look for a comfortable knit, not too tight, and a reasonable heel for starters.

What is your go to wedding get up?

Practice makes perfect!

I know its a little early, but sometimes things need planning. I don't mean that you should throw spontaneity out the window, a lot of times that is the most romantic part of everyday, but maybe sometimes it ok to mix the two. By the way... I'm talking about Valentine's Day.

Here are a few of my favorite things for Valentine's day, great to receive in any combination.

This book is hilarious. My Best friend bought me the "XXX" version. the book is full of kitschy adorable pictures of guys reading "Pride and Predjuice" and saying "buy both purses, you deserve'em!" and "I just don't get this whole supermodel thing" and "Lets let a professional fix it" very endearing. Plus no actual "porn" involved.

Must watch Moulin Rouge, just make sure you have a pick-me-up for the end!

Beautiful Silk Chimese, the best money can buy, all hand made.

1000 and 3

As I sit here with my morning coffee I'm thinking of a thousand things as usual. Here are a few of them.

1. Making some "new" pillows - I love vintage turned to new, and here is a great way to do it.

2. Add a fresh light to my rooms.

3. Organize to my space's full potential.

I hope that these projects help inspire you to take the next steps towards spring, and cleaning the slate.

I was inspired by this lovely artwork by isphotography found on Poppytalk Handmade to make this post a fairytale. Although a lot of girls grow up into women, some remember to dream. ooo pretty poetic of me, but I think we all need to at least indulge in the pretend sometimes. Here is my pretend...
