The Book of Decorating

Domino: The Book of Decorating cracks the code to creating a beautiful home, bringing together inspiring rooms, how-to advice and insiders' secrets from today's premier tastemakers in an indispensable style manual. The editors take readers room by room, tapping the best ideas from domino magazine and culling insights from their own experiences. With an eye to making design accessible and exciting, this book demystifies the decorating process and provides the tools for making spaces that are personal, functional and fabulous.

I think everyone with a passion for decorating, or wanting to cultivate one, needs this book. I love it, filled with inspiration and ideas, easy to browse or hit hard with a glass of vino. I can't wait to see the ideas you bring to life...

Halloween in coming...

Of course I love decorating, so when there is an excuse to decorate, I'm all over it. Halloween is coming up, which brings pumpkin patches, changing leaves, cooler days, and spooks! My costume is ready, pumpkins are carved, and I have been thoroughly enjoying the crisp weather.

Here are some pictures of my fall here in Seattle.

A spooky little wreath I made for the entry way

walking around Belltown - I love the brick

so pretty - the orange building, neon, and leaves are very urban-festive-fall

the pumpkins were inspired by Martha Stewart's pumpkin ideas (with little twists of my own of course!)

Soup for the season!

Wanting to get into the fall mood I found this recipe in Real Simple, one of my favorite magazines. It was pretty easy to make, and I made enough so whenever I want some cozy fall soup there it is!
