Fourth of July DIY

Happy Independence day! I started the day this morning with a little light crafting. I had two glass jars that I had cleaned in anticipation of a project. I was thinking of all the ideas floating around the net like Alli Coate’s featured on design sponge, but I wanted something cute and using the materials I have on hand above all else. So here it is!

Materials Used:
-Elmer’s glue or Mod Podge
-rubber band (two per jar)
-fabric (a heavier weight will be better)
-cute twine or ribbon
-paint brush or sponge

Step 1
Take the clean, dry lid and trace on the fabric at least 2 inches from the edges.

Step 2
Cover the lid with your glue using the paint brush or sponge.

Step 3
Cut around at least 2 inches from the tracing around the lid and center the swatch on the gluey lid and secure the fabric with rubber bands around the edge let dry for 10 mins.

Step 4
After the 10 mins take off the rubber bands, not messing with the form in the jar, and replace with the ribbon you selected. Wrap it once or twice, and keep it on the rim of the lid. (You can see that the glue is still wet all over the top of the lid.)

Step 5
Brush your glue over the ribbon and let dry completely.

You’re Done!

Fill with whatever you'd like, jewelry, candle (take the lid off to be lit), lipsticks, etc...
