Urban Seattle

I buy a lot of clothes. For me. For clients. and when I can, when the need fits I love to find a new local line and give them a try. For the past year or so, my eye has been on Switched Clothing. Its a small operation based in downtown. I have 4 tee shirts (which is the whole of my tee shirt collection) by them, so cozy and the quality is great. It seems to change a lot but luckily its always cheap.

They don't reorder, so once they're gone, they're gone. OH they also have cute one-of-a-kind handmade bags but they go pretty fast. Hope you enjoy browsing around!

I have this one I love it!

How to: Hack Gucci

Las Vegas, what to wear, what to wear.... You should think ALMOST tacky glam. its a thin line to cheap. So, what should you look for? Gucci. if you can go to the nearest Gucci boutique then thats easy, but if you can't then lets get hacking.

Gucci = hardware + texture + gold + sexy

Taking that formula lets hack the Gucci, for not the Gucci price.

Gold bamboo hoops found online at forever 21 for $4.80

Seattle Victory!

NEWS FLASH! H&M IS COMING TO SEATTLE if you didn’t know that already. H&M is coming has been sought for years and now its finally here. So far we have a store in Downtown and University Village, maybe South Center? I am exuding happiness right now at the thought of thousands of things all in mine and your price range.

First a little info about H&M. the Swedish invasion started in 1947 as a women’s clothing store and such until 1968 when it picked up a men’s line. H&M slowly conquered western europe and in 2000 it made the leap over the pond to New York, and in 2007 H&M spread to East Asia.

What draws all types of people to H&M? Over the years they have had many exclusive lines by pop stars to fashion gods. Combining super affordable to high fashion. Some of the names that have combined with H&M are: Karl Lagerfeld, Kylie Minogue, Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf, Madonna, and Roberto Cavalli

Although I’d love to walk in the doors opening day... I don’t want to get trampled, so I’m going to wait a week. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Here it is on the map in Downtown and University Village

Before you make up your mind, heres some more temptation.

Browsing around one of my favorite blogs The Paris Apartment I found some very inspiring spaces.  I hope you feel the same.

A little GLAM goes a long way!

A beautiful combination.  A little glitz, Morocco, and a strong feminine side.

Tropical and Parisian.  Shopping or the Beach? Either sounds heavenly.

Clean, Romantic, with a little modern.

Rustic, comfortable, and elegant.

If you are finding it difficult to muster up some inspiration for your aspirations in your living space, email me and  I’d love to give you that extra little push or tip to get you going.

Fourth of July DIY

Happy Independence day! I started the day this morning with a little light crafting. I had two glass jars that I had cleaned in anticipation of a project. I was thinking of all the ideas floating around the net like Alli Coate’s featured on design sponge, but I wanted something cute and using the materials I have on hand above all else. So here it is!

Materials Used:
-Elmer’s glue or Mod Podge
-rubber band (two per jar)
-fabric (a heavier weight will be better)
-cute twine or ribbon
-paint brush or sponge

Step 1
Take the clean, dry lid and trace on the fabric at least 2 inches from the edges.

Step 2
Cover the lid with your glue using the paint brush or sponge.

Step 3
Cut around at least 2 inches from the tracing around the lid and center the swatch on the gluey lid and secure the fabric with rubber bands around the edge let dry for 10 mins.

Step 4
After the 10 mins take off the rubber bands, not messing with the form in the jar, and replace with the ribbon you selected. Wrap it once or twice, and keep it on the rim of the lid. (You can see that the glue is still wet all over the top of the lid.)

Step 5
Brush your glue over the ribbon and let dry completely.

You’re Done!

Fill with whatever you'd like, jewelry, candle (take the lid off to be lit), lipsticks, etc...
